Senior Data Scientist (Micromobility)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid working with a minimum of days in the office each week.

What you will do

• Own ML systems from notebook prototypes through deployment, monitoring, retraining, and ongoing maintenance.
• Design, train, and deploy models using tabular, image, video, and sensor data.
• Develop operational and pricing rules, validate them through experiments and quasi-experimental analysis, and measure their impact on fleets and customers.
• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Product Managers, Operations, and the ML Platform team to productionise and monitor ML solutions.
• Create documentation, runbooks, and diagnostics for operating and extending ML systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in applied data science or ML engineering, ideally in a product setting.
• Hands-on experience building end-to-end ML systems, including testing, monitoring, scaling, and impact measurement.
• Mastery of Python and SQL/PySpark, clean code practices, and modern ML tooling and cloud infrastructure including AWS, SageMaker, Airflow, Docker, and MLflow.
• Production experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
• Experience with experimentation design and causal inference.
• Strong product sense, proactive ownership, and the ability to turn ambiguous problems into measurable solutions from discovery through production impact.
• Adaptability and comfort working across modelling, pipeline engineering, stakeholder collaboration, and mature system maintenance in a small team.
