Senior Data Scientist / ML Engineer (Healthcare)

Location: Nottingham, UK — hybrid, with up to 3 days per week in the Nottingham office

What you will do

• Design, train, deploy, and maintain machine learning models for time-series forecasting and related data tasks.
• Develop forecasting solutions using methods such as Prophet, ARIMA, LSTM, and TimeGPT to predict clinic usage and staffing needs.
• Build and maintain cloud-native data pipelines using Azure, AWS, or GCP tools.
• Work with Databricks, PySpark, notebooks, workflows, and Asset Bundles across development and deployment.
• Own delivery from discovery and proof of concept through production deployment, monitoring, and optimisation.
• Collaborate with data, product, cloud, and business stakeholders to define requirements and communicate modelling results.

Requirements

• 4+ years of commercial experience in data science or machine learning.
• Production experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning solutions.
• Strong Python skills with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, and PyTorch, plus SQL and Git.
• Hands-on experience with Databricks, PySpark, notebooks, workflows, and deployment through Asset Bundles.
• Experience with forecasting, regression, classification, gradient boosting, model evaluation, performance monitoring, and accuracy metrics.
• Fluent English and availability for hybrid work in Nottingham, UK.

Nice to have

• Azure experience, with AWS or GCP also considered.
• Azure DevOps experience with Repos, Boards, and Pipelines.
• Experience with Databricks model training and inference workflows, Databricks Apps, and Lakebase.
• Experience with RAG pipelines, vector databases such as Weaviate or Milvus, and LLM evaluation frameworks such as DeepEval.
• Retail or another similar consumer-facing industry experience.
