Antenna Engineer (RF/Microwave)

Location: Primarily onsite at office and laboratory facilities in Tampere, Finland; occasional international travel may be required.

hirify.global Sensor Technology Center in Tampere develops complex electronic warfare systems and hardware modules for the Surveillance business area.

What you will do

• Design, simulate, prototype, and optimize antennas for high-reliability applications.
• Use electromagnetic simulation tools and measurement equipment to validate antenna performance.
• Develop functional prototypes and support product integration, testing, and realization.
• Collaborate with system design, software, hardware, and testing teams to define requirements.
• Ensure antenna designs meet technical, environmental, and manufacturing requirements.
• Create and maintain technical documentation in Finnish and English.

Requirements

• Experience in antenna design and optimization using CST, HFSS, or similar simulation tools.
• Strong understanding of antenna metrics including gain, efficiency, return loss, radiation patterns, and bandwidth.
• Proficiency with signal generators, spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, or similar measurement equipment.
• Advanced MATLAB skills are highly valuable.
• M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics, with a focus on Electromagnetics.
• Approved security clearance under the Finnish Security Clearance Act and a drug test are required for the selected applicant.

Nice to have

• Experience making design trade-offs and negotiating performance priorities with internal stakeholders.
• Knowledge of different antenna types and their performance limitations.
• Experience with environmental testing and military equipment standards.
