Director of Finance

Location: Berlin, on-site five days a week

Salary: €120,000–€150,000 per year; total compensation of €200,000 including equity

What you will do

• Own accounting, month-end close, controlling, tax, audit, and the broader finance function.
• Build investor- and acquirer-ready reporting, controls, data-room quality, and financial processes.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, scenario planning, and decision-grade financial analysis.
• Manage liquidity, treasury, payment flows, working capital, margins, and unit economics across a high-volume marketplace.
• Select and implement scalable finance systems, tooling, processes, and controls.
• Support M&A, partnerships, financing, and build-versus-buy decisions.

Requirements

• 8+ years of finance experience, including several years as Head of Finance, VP Finance, Finance Director, or CFO.
• Experience leading finance at a scale-up of approximately 30–1,000 employees.
• Experience preparing a company for a funding round, due diligence, audit, or exit.
• Hands-on expertise across accounting and close, controlling, FP&A, and cash management.
• Experience building finance processes, systems, and reporting from scratch.
• Clear communication with founders, team leads, investors, and auditors.

Nice to have

• Strategic finance, fundraising, or M&A experience.
• Experience with marketplaces, adtech, gaming, or other high-volume payment businesses.
