TL;DR
Group Financial Controller (AI): Leading accounting and finance operations for a global ground transportation marketplace with an accent on financial reporting, internal controls, cash management, and regulatory compliance. Focus on managing complex financial close processes, improving finance systems with AI, and developing an international accounting team.
Location: Berlin, Germany HQ preferred; remote applications from elsewhere are also considered. Workplace options: remote and hybrid.
Salary: €120,000–€140,000 per year.

operates a B2B ground transportation marketplace connecting bus, rail, and ferry operators in more than 70 countries with online retailers such as Google Maps and Booking.com.
What you will do
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial close processes.
- Prepare financial statements and oversee general ledger integrity, journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Manage accounting operations across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expenses.
- Establish internal controls, coordinate external audits and tax compliance, and ensure statutory reporting requirements are met.
- Manage cash balances, working capital, cash-flow forecasting, bank reconciliations, and corporate bank accounts.
- Lead and develop the accounting team while improving financial systems, workflows, and process automation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of post-qualification accounting experience, preferably with Big Four training.
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including German HGB and IFRS.
- Experience with financial close, reporting, audits, tax compliance, and internal controls.
- Experience in international, multi-entity environments and leadership of finance or accounting teams, ideally 10+ people.
- Hands-on ownership of operational finance, financial systems implementation, process automation, and AI-enabled process improvement.
- Fluent English required; German is advantageous.
