Vehicle Modelling Engineer (Autonomous Driving)

Location: London, United Kingdom. Hybrid working model with in-person collaboration in the office, remote work, and hands-on work in vehicle workshops and labs. Relocation support and visa sponsorship are available where applicable.

What you will do

• Develop virtual vehicle models using physics-based and data-driven techniques.
• Validate models against on-road data and implement correlation improvements.
• Convert models into efficient, production-quality software components that meet accuracy, performance, and scalability requirements.
• Plan, run, and analyse experimental tests at tracks or with external partners.
• Integrate vehicle models across simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and correlation pipelines.
• Share modelling results with robotics, simulation, and product teams.

Requirements

• Experience developing mathematical models and simulation algorithms for vehicle dynamics, robotics, or control systems.
• Strong knowledge of classical mechanics, numerical analysis, and computational methods.
• Experience validating simulation models against experimental data.
• Production-quality programming skills in C++ or Python.
• Experience with vehicle dynamics in autonomous vehicles, automotive, or motorsport.
• Experience with machine learning or system identification and high-fidelity tools such as Dymola, CarSim, or CarMaker.

Nice to have

• Interest in specialising in modelling, correlation and metrics, or experimental track work.
