Senior Distinguished Technologist (AI & Data Center Networking)

Location: Remote/Teleworker in the United States; willingness to travel internationally up to 50% is required.

Salary: USD 257,500–624,000 annual combined base and target-level sales compensation, depending on the US location. Listed ranges include Massachusetts: USD 293,000–587,000; California and New York: USD 293,000–624,000; North Carolina and Texas: USD 257,500–624,000. The compensation mix is 75% base salary and 25% target-level sales compensation.

What you will do

• Architect scalable end-to-end networking infrastructure for AI/ML, data center, hyperscale, and WAN opportunities.
• Translate customer business needs into technical solutions during complex sales cycles and lead solution customization.
• Coordinate specialists, systems engineers, product teams, hyperscalers, enterprises, service providers, and technology partners.
• Deliver demonstrations, proofs of concept, technical presentations, RFP responses, and solution documentation.
• Influence technical strategy through deal validation, solution design, and handoff to delivery teams.
• Develop architecture playbooks and enablement materials while mentoring technologists and sales engineering teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
• 20+ years of experience in network infrastructure architecture, design, solutions consulting, and large-scale AI or cloud data center networking.
• 20+ years of experience with JunOS, EOS, IOS, and hyperscale network architecture; JNCIE or equivalent certification.
• Deep expertise in hyperscale routing, MPLS traffic engineering, switching, EVPN/VXLAN, MP-BGP, network fabrics, DCI, provisioning, automation, and monitoring.
• Experience with Python, APIs, JSON, virtualization on x86, DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs, and networking platforms such as Juniper, Arista, Cisco, SONiC, and Cumulus.
• Strong pre-sales, presentation, communication, customer engagement, and technical leadership skills, including work with senior technical and C-level stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience driving standards and forward-looking initiatives with OCP, IETF, UEC, IEEE, or similar standards bodies.
• Experience presenting technology thought leadership at industry events.
