Environment, Health & Safety Specialist

Location: Preston, Victoria, Australia; onsite at the Preston site

What you will do

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives supporting employee safety, environmental protection, operational objectives, and sustainability.
• Coordinate safety management systems and procedures in line with ISO 45001 and other requirements applying to the Preston site.
• Provide technical advice and guidance to managers, facilitators, and employees on safety management systems and safe work practices.
• Manage risk assessments, corrective actions, hazard reporting, incident investigations, and improvements to unsafe working conditions.
• Coordinate WorkCover claims, WorkSafe matters, return-to-work activities, and investigations with insurers and authorities.
• Maintain fire protection equipment, warden training, environmental reporting, permits, records, audits, and inspections.

Requirements

• Experience supporting workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance in an operational or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of ISO 45001, safety management systems, risk assessment, and incident investigation.
• Ability to advise managers and employees and promote a culture of safety and environmental responsibility.
• Ability to manage WorkCover and WorkSafe requirements, environmental permits, reporting, and records.
• Ability to work onsite at the Preston, Victoria site.
