Tech Lead, System Validation (Aerospace)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States; full-time, in-office work 5 days per week

Salary: $144,500–$180,600 USD per year base salary, with potential short-term and long-term incentives.

hirify.global designs, builds, and operates a large constellation of imaging satellites and provides cloud-based satellite data to commercial, environmental, and humanitarian users.

What you will do

• Define and execute the roadmap for building and maintaining multi-mission system-validation testbeds.
• Own testbed buildup, maintenance, configuration, and supporting tooling across hardware and software.
• Design tooling that enables engineering teams to test software and firmware updates safely.
• Engage stakeholders, prioritize feature requests, and identify resourcing needs through mission- and discipline-specific points of contact.
• Maximize testbed uptime by triaging and resolving anomalies with subject-matter experts.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant testbed or network engineering experience.
• Experience with Bash, Python, or other scripting or object-oriented languages.
• Experience with Linux or UNIX servers, IP networks, and Docker.
• Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work in the San Francisco office 5 days per week. Access to export-controlled information is subject to applicable export licensing requirements.

Nice to have

• Experience scaling systems for satellite manufacturing or testing.
• Project management experience with cross-functional teams.
• Experience preparing training materials or training teams on new responsibilities.
