TL;DR
Senior Mechanical Development & Test Engineer II (Aerospace): Designing, building, validating, and executing complex mechanical test capabilities for avionics boxes, mechanisms, and integrated spacecraft with an accent on qualification campaigns, automated acceptance testing, and Mechanical Ground Support Equipment. Focus on leading end-to-end test projects, developing production-floor test infrastructure, analyzing post-test data, and solving complex environmental testing challenges.

Location: Long Beach, California, United States; onsite at hirify.global's headquarters

Base salary: $132,000–$198,000 USD annually. Total compensation including equity: $164,500–$255,275 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Lead qualification test campaigns and high-volume acceptance test infrastructure development.
  • Design, build, implement, and validate complex internal test capabilities.
  • Manage test projects end to end, including resourcing, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Collaborate with design and test engineers to define requirements and iterate on test concepts.
  • Design complex Mechanical Ground Support Equipment for test implementation.
  • Advise on test capability limits, infrastructure needs, and future development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • Experience with NX Nastran, NX CAD, and Teamcenter.
  • Experience with component- and system-level environmental testing.
  • Experience with test automation and post-test data analysis.
  • For work in US offices, eligibility under ITAR requirements is mandatory: US citizenship, lawful permanent residence, qualifying refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • Master's or PhD in mechanical engineering or another engineering discipline.
  • Experience with Confluence and JIRA.
  • Python experience for automation and data analysis.
  • Experience leading engineers and technicians.
