Head of People Operations (AI)

Location: Hybrid role based in the Sydney office, Australia

Salary: A$160K–A$200K plus equity

What you will do

• Own People Operations end to end, including global payroll, employee lifecycle processes, talent acquisition, IT provisioning, and people programs.
• Design the next People Operations architecture across Rippling, Remote, Ashby, and connected tools.
• Personally build and launch AI agents, automations, workflows, and playbooks that reduce manual administration and errors.
• Develop career paths, levelling, compensation, performance, engagement, promotion, and learning frameworks for managers to run independently.
• Lead the People Operations team, set priorities and standards, and run the function’s weekly cadence.
• Partner with the CEO, Finance, Legal, and department leaders on workforce planning, compliance, employee relations, hiring, and organisational design.

Requirements

• Operations or leadership experience through a high-growth, high-change period, ideally in a 100–300-person scale-up.
• Systems architecture experience designing how platforms and data work together without manual administration.
• Hands-on experience building automations or AI agent workflows yourself.
• Experience writing frameworks and playbooks that managers can run independently.
• Ability to work effectively in an ambiguous, hands-on player-coach environment.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setup from the Sydney office, Australia.

Nice to have

• Series B or growth-stage scale-up experience.
• Experience with Zapier, Airtable, Rippling, Remote, Ashby, or AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
