Detection Engineer - Cloud Security

Location: Alpharetta, Georgia, United States. Candidates must be legally authorized to work full time in the United States without current or future immigration sponsorship.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver scalable cloud threat detections for AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
• Define detection engineering standards and implement detection-as-code practices.
• Design correlation logic and detection content to improve signal quality, reduce false positives, and strengthen cloud threat visibility.
• Collaborate with Cloud Security Operations and Global Security Operations Center teams to improve response readiness.
• Test and simulate detections, identify coverage gaps, and improve resilience against evolving threats.

Requirements

• Experience in security engineering, detection engineering, or cloud security.
• Hands-on experience building detection capabilities in AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Expertise with security detection logic, SIEM platforms such as Splunk, Kusto Query Language, cloud-native detection tools, or CNAPP solutions.
• Experience with detection-as-code, Git, code reviews, CI/CD, and software engineering practices.
• Understanding of cloud threat behaviors and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• United States work authorization without visa sponsorship is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Wiz or similar CNAPP technologies.
• Kubernetes security experience, including runtime detection, admission controls, or container security.
• Experience in payments, financial services, healthcare, or other regulated industries.
• Relevant cloud security certifications.
