Director, Scientific Services (Healthcare)

What you will do

• Provide senior scientific and strategic leadership across the business unit.
• Advise clients, shape medical communications strategies, lead planning discussions, and strengthen long-term partnerships.
• Lead scientific oversight of project delivery, risks, content, messaging, data interpretation, and final materials.
• Support proposals, pitches, business growth, innovation, and the integration of AI and omnichannel approaches.
• Partner with client services leadership on forecasting, resource planning, operational performance, and business growth.
• Build engagement and performance through mentoring, development planning, goal setting, and regular reviews.

Requirements

• At least 10 years of healthcare agency experience in senior roles.
• Life sciences degree, ideally with a Master’s degree, PhD, or MD.
• Experience leading and developing scientific or editorial teams within a medical communications agency.
• Extensive medical writing and scientific leadership experience across multiple projects and therapeutic areas.
• Commercial and financial awareness, including forecasting, resource planning, and business performance experience.
• Strong leadership, client relationship, communication, organization, and presentation skills.
