Senior Software Developer (Java)

Location: Austin, Texas, United States or Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: $99,800–$147,680 CAD per year for the Ontario position

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and services running in AWS.
• Build and improve hirify.global’s shared Payments platform for app stores, consoles, and payment processing providers.
• Optimize and refactor services to improve reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
• Architect, write, review, and support production and integration code for shared game technology.
• Review technical plans and align implementation with team and company-wide engineering standards.
• Collaborate with software engineers and external groups on technical implementations and procedures.

Requirements

• 4+ years of hands-on software development experience.
• Experience developing RESTful services with Java and designing object-oriented applications and systems.
• Solid understanding of backend server applications and web services.
• Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, including IaaS, PaaS, or SaaS.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, caching with Valkey, and SQL or NoSQL databases such as RDS.
• Technical degree or equivalent experience, plus experience with agile development methodologies and tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with JavaScript, Angular, or React.
• Experience working with AI tools.
• Working experience with C#, Swift, Kotlin, iOS, Android, WebGL, or Unity.
