Fleet and Release Automation Engineer (IoT)

Location: Full-time, on-site at Sunnyvale HQ, Sunnyvale, California, United States

Base salary: $165,000–$195,000 per year, depending on experience

What you will do

• Design, build, and operate shared OTA and release pipelines across K5, K7, H1, K1H, ECD, and Signals device products.
• Partner with Signals firmware engineers on unified OTA delivery.
• Establish release SLOs, rollback discipline, and an on-call rotation for fleet releases.
• Connect cloud pipelines to on-device delivery in partnership with DevOps and Platform.
• Contribute to cross-product release standards through the Center of Engineering Excellence.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in embedded fleet operations or release engineering.
• Hands-on experience designing and operating OTA update systems.
• Strong experience managing device fleets at scale.
• Experience with release automation patterns such as canary, staged, and ring-based deployments.
• Fluency with infrastructure as code.
• Full-time, on-site work at the Sunnyvale headquarters is required.

• Experience with robotics, security devices, or connected IoT products.
• Experience standardizing releases across multiple product lines.
• Release experience in regulated, safety-critical, or security-critical environments.
