Program Specialist, Energy Efficiency

Location: Remote Minnesota; the role is associated with St. Paul, Minnesota, United States, and includes up to 15% local travel for meetings, events, and conferences.

Salary: $67,355–$114,503 per year.

What you will do

• Support implementation, administration, delivery, startup, transition, and closeout of residential new construction energy-efficiency programs.
• Coordinate communications, meetings, presentations, action items, and follow-up with builders, developers, HERS raters, trade allies, affordable housing partners, and internal teams.
• Track participation, energy savings, incentives, budgets, expenditures, forecasts, and other program performance metrics.
• Collect and analyze data and prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, ad hoc, regulatory, audit, and evaluation reports.
• Coordinate application intake, eligibility reviews, incentive processing, invoicing, payments, reconciliation, issue resolution, and quality assurance activities.
• Maintain program systems, databases, reporting tools, standard operating procedures, training materials, SharePoint resources, and other documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in energy, environmental science, sustainability, construction management, engineering, business administration, or a related field; one year of related experience may substitute for one year of education.
• At least 2 years of experience supporting energy-efficiency programs, residential construction programs, project coordination, program operations, or related work.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, customer-service, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage technical, financial, and operational information, multiple priorities, deadlines, and confidential data.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint.
• Reliable transportation and availability for up to 15% local travel in Minnesota are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with utility energy-efficiency or residential new construction programs.
• Knowledge of building science, residential energy codes, whole-home performance, HERS ratings, or RESNET standards.
• Experience working with builders, developers, contractors, HERS raters, affordable housing organizations, or trade allies.
• Familiarity with Ekotrope, Sightline, Salesforce, Power BI, Jira, FocusPoint, or similar platforms.
• Project management coursework, training, or certification.
