Certified Medical Assistant (Pediatric Specialties)

Salary: $22.00–$25.15 per full-time equivalent position.

What you will do

• Coordinate patient flow, room availability, provider schedules, delays, arrivals, and no-shows in the outpatient setting.
• Prepare patients, examination rooms, and medical records for provider visits while maintaining comfort, privacy, and safety.
• Record vital signs, medication information, pain levels, and patient histories in the electronic medical record.
• Assist providers and nursing staff with examinations, treatments, procedures, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
• Support referrals, prior authorizations, diagnostic testing, surgical scheduling, billing documentation, supply management, and quality improvement activities.
• Provide administrative support, including telephone coverage, message handling, interpreter coordination, scanning, and faxing.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of a clinical program or at least six months of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
• Basic Life Support certification, or the ability to obtain it within three months.
• Ability to read, write, and spell in English for accurate documentation and message taking.
• Basic to moderate computer skills, including electronic medical record systems; knowledge of Epic is required.
• Ability to work in a patient-care environment involving prolonged standing and walking, occasional lifting of 30–35 pounds, and exposure to infectious disease and blood-borne pathogens.

Nice to have

• Two years of medical office experience.
