Cyber Security Software Developer (Rust)

Location: Norfolk, VA, USA; 100% on-site in a Special Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF)

What you will do

• Develop clean, safe, and efficient software for embedded architectures, military networks, and tactical systems.
• Redesign and harden legacy software modules using memory-safe architectures to reduce memory-corruption vulnerabilities.
• Integrate software with custom hardware, in-vehicle data networks, and tactical communication systems.
• Review, debug, and test software through automated pipelines against strict design requirements and defense performance metrics.
• Contribute to requirements analysis, architecture development, and technical documentation aligned with DoD software engineering standards.

Requirements

• Top Secret/SCI security clearance required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related STEM discipline.
• 1–3 years of professional software development experience, or equivalent military or co-op experience.
• Strong understanding of Rust, including safe and unsafe Rust, ownership and borrowing, and concurrency.
• Hands-on experience or working familiarity with C, C++, or Go.
• Proficiency with Linux, shell scripting, and Git.
