Army SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Onsite at the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia; applicants must currently reside in the United States.

Salary: USD $126,854–$170,000 per year.

What you will do

• Provide Army subject matter expertise to HQ, Department of the Army, and Army functional proponents.
• Support the development and implementation of Readiness, Modernization, and Force Generation initiatives.
• Use existing Army processes and IT solutions to develop client-facing products.
• Coordinate with external Army entities and internal technical teams.
• Research and evaluate new concepts and processes to improve performance.
• Work independently, identify tasks, and respond to customer needs.

Requirements

• Must currently reside in the United States and work onsite at the Pentagon.
• Bachelor’s degree with 10–12 years of experience, master’s degree with 8–10 years, or PhD with 5–7 years; six additional years of relevant experience may replace a bachelor’s degree.
• Must be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance.
• Strong Army or military functional knowledge, including Readiness, Force Structure, Equipment, and/or Personnel processes or systems.
• Experience in operations, planning, training, or resources, with strong communication and writing skills.
• Ability to translate functional needs for technical and other team members.

Nice to have

• Recent relevant military experience, preferably in the Army, involving Force Management, Readiness, Initiatives, or Strategy.
• Experience working with an Army Command staff such as HQDA, FORSCOM, TRADOC, AMC, or AFC.
