Senior Engineering Manager - Fintech Engineering (m/f/n)

Location: Warsaw or Kraków, Poland

Company

Building an own fintech platform from the ground up as a large-scale international initiative, with an AI-native engineering organization in Poland and products operating at InPost scale.

What you will do

• Own the multi-quarter engineering strategy for a Pay platform area, covering architecture evolution, team topology, capability building, and technical risk management.
• Lead 2–3 Engineering Managers across an organization of 8–20 engineers, ensuring leadership development, delivery accountability, quality, and cross-team alignment.
• Define team boundaries, headcount plans, hiring strategies, and role structures aligned with product and technical goals.
• Represent engineering in discussions with VP and C-level leadership, combining technical credibility with commercial framing.
• Drive AI-first engineering practices, including harness adoption, agentic operations, and consistent data emission discipline.
• Partner with Product, Business, Design, Data, Compliance, and Finance stakeholders while managing dependencies and delivery at scale.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in backend software engineering and technology leadership, including 2+ years managing Engineering Managers in a multi-team organization.
• University degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with organizational design, team topology, headcount planning, strategic roadmaps, and large-scale product organizations.
• Strong cross-functional and executive communication skills, including collaboration with product, design, data, compliance, and finance stakeholders.
• Technical credibility for architecture reviews and risk assessments, plus experience with AI-first and agentic engineering practices.
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher is required.

Nice to have

• Leadership experience in FinTech or another regulated product domain.
• Multi-market or multi-country engineering leadership experience.
• Knowledge of PSD2, GDPR, credit regulation, or other FinTech regulatory requirements.
• Board- or investor-level engineering reporting, M&A, or technical integration experience.
• Polish language skills.
