Senior Application Engineer (SCM/Build)

Location: Hybrid work environment with defined in-person presence requirements in the United States; primary posting location is Rockville, Maryland. Occasional travel, extended hours, and rotational on-call duties may be required.

Salary: $112,300–$202,500 annually for Rockville, MD. Other listed US location ranges vary by location.

What you will do

• Maintain source code branches, build environments, and development and test code baselines.
• Create and validate product builds and support software and hardware configuration quality.
• Recommend improvements to configuration management systems, build validation methods, delivery systems, and internal processes.
• Monitor teams, provide software configuration management and build support, and troubleshoot technical problems.
• Collaborate across teams to resolve defects, align technology solutions with customer expectations, and report status and metrics.
• Train, mentor, and supervise junior staff while managing vendor relationships and related budgets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with at least five years of related experience.
• At least three years of senior-level software configuration management/build engineering experience in a custom software development organization.
• Knowledge of configuration management best practices and experience with SCM and build automation tools.
• Experience with at least one contemporary scripting language and one object-oriented programming language.
• Strong written and verbal technical communication, organization, troubleshooting, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to meet the defined in-person requirements of the hybrid work environment in the United States.
