Senior Configuration Analyst (DevOps): Supporting Veterans Affairs applications and leading cloud migration through configuration management, release engineering, and repeatable build and deployment processes with an accent on source control, CI/CD automation, infrastructure as code, and regulated federal environments. Focus on designing configuration standards, investigating build and dependency failures, automating delivery tools, and mentoring junior analysts and engineers.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington are not considered.
Salary: $74,325–$82,500 annually

What you will do
- Support Veterans Affairs applications and lead migration to the cloud.
- Develop and maintain configuration management tools for internally developed and commercial software.
- Perform configuration management and release engineering across multiple environments.
- Design automation, build procedures, and repeatable deployment processes using programming, database, and scripting tools.
- Establish company-wide configuration standards and train developers on configuration management and software quality practices.
- Provide technical guidance, investigate complex build and deployment issues, and mentor junior analysts and engineers.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship is required; must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) and complete a government security investigation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline with 10+ years of relevant experience; eight or more years may substitute for education.
- Deep expertise in software configuration management, release engineering, change control, baselining, and status accounting.
- Experience with Git-based source control, branching and merging, CI/CD tools, artifact repositories, and infrastructure as code using Ansible and Terraform.
- Experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, COTS software, vendor patches, version control, dependency management, and reproducible builds.
- Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, and mentoring skills in large, regulated, or federal environments.
Nice to have
- ITIL Foundation, CMII, or equivalent configuration management certification.
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, HL7, or FHIR.
