TL;DR
Senior Configuration Analyst (DevOps): Supporting Veterans Affairs applications and leading cloud migration with an accent on software configuration management, release engineering, and repeatable build and deployment processes. Focus on automating configuration and productivity tools, resolving build and dependency issues, and guiding developers and junior analysts on CM and quality practices.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) are required.
Salary: $74,325–$82,500 annually

What you will do
- Support Veterans Affairs applications and lead migration activities to the cloud.
- Develop and maintain configuration management tools for internally developed and commercial off-the-shelf software.
- Perform configuration management, release engineering, build, and deployment activities across multiple environments.
- Design and automate productivity tools, build procedures, and repeatable delivery processes.
- Develop company-wide configuration standards and train developers on configuration management and software quality practices.
- Provide technical guidance, collaborate with stakeholders, and mentor junior analysts and engineers.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading and delivering complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
- Deep expertise in software configuration management, release engineering, baselining, change control, and status accounting.
- Experience with Git, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps Repos, Subversion, CI/CD tools, and artifact repositories.
- Automation experience with Bash, PowerShell, Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
- Experience in large, regulated, or federal environments, including COTS software, vendor patches, and version control.
- U.S. citizenship, Public Trust (MBI) eligibility, and a bachelor's degree with 10+ years of relevant experience are required; eight or more years of relevant experience may substitute for education.
Nice to have
- ITIL Foundation, CMII, or equivalent configuration management certification.
- Experience with Electronic Data Interchange X.12 medical claims, HL7, or FHIR.
