Senior Configuration Analyst (Software Configuration Management/DevOps): Supporting Veterans Affairs applications and leading cloud migration while designing repeatable configuration, build, release, and deployment processes with an accent on automation, source control, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code. Focus on solving build and dependency issues, managing complex releases across environments, and establishing configuration standards in a regulated federal setting.
Location: 100% remote within the United States; candidates from California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required.
Salary: $74,325–$82,500 per year

What you will do
- Support Veterans Affairs applications and lead migration to cloud environments.
- Develop and maintain configuration management tools for internally developed and commercial software.
- Perform configuration management and release engineering across multiple environments.
- Design and automate productivity tools, build procedures, and repeatable deployment processes.
- Establish company-wide configuration standards and train developers on tools and quality practices.
- Provide technical guidance, investigate complex build and deployment issues, and mentor junior analysts and engineers.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading complex software builds and releases across multiple environments.
- Deep expertise in software configuration management, release engineering, change control, baselining, and status accounting.
- Experience with Git-based source control, branching and merging, CI/CD pipelines, artifact repositories, and infrastructure as code.
- Strong scripting experience with Bash, PowerShell, and Python, plus knowledge of Ansible and Terraform.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field and 10+ years of relevant experience; eight or more years may substitute for education.
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust (MBI) are required.
Nice to have
- ITIL Foundation, CMII, or equivalent configuration management certification.
- Experience with EDI X.12 medical claims, HL7, or FHIR.
