Senior Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Terraform)

Location: Predominantly remote, with onsite attendance at the Cardiff office approximately once per quarter.

Infrastructure engineering contract role supporting secure, resilient, and scalable platform services.

What you will do

• Build, administer, and maintain secure cloud infrastructure and platform services.
• Manage and troubleshoot Linux-based environments and AWS infrastructure.
• Provision infrastructure with Terraform and Infrastructure as Code, and support Docker-based containerised environments.
• Automate infrastructure and operational processes using Bash and Python.
• Apply infrastructure hardening, identity and access management, vulnerability remediation, monitoring, and operational security practices.
• Improve platform resilience, availability, and efficiency while providing technical guidance and supporting incident investigations.

Requirements

• Strong experience in senior infrastructure, platform, or cloud engineering roles.
• Advanced Linux administration and troubleshooting skills.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, Docker, Bash, and Python for infrastructure automation.
• Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure security, secure configuration, hardening, and vulnerability management.
• Experience supporting secure, resilient, and highly available production environments, including identity and access management.
• Ability to attend the Cardiff office when required, approximately once per quarter.

• Experience in large-scale or complex enterprise environments.
• Infrastructure monitoring, alerting, and observability experience.
• Security incident investigation and remediation experience.
• Experience with configuration management, cloud governance, compliance, and security standards.
• Experience collaborating across infrastructure, security, and software engineering teams.
