TL;DR
Instructional Designer (Manufacturing): Developing classroom-based, digital, and blended learning programmes for technical and organisational capability with an accent on learning needs analysis, curriculum design, and technically accurate content creation. Focus on collaborating with subject matter experts, designing assessments and learning pathways, evaluating programme effectiveness, and applying emerging learning technologies.

What you will do

  • Analyse business requirements, performance gaps, and learner needs to design targeted learning interventions.
  • Develop instructor-led, digital, and blended learning programmes, including structured content, storyboards, assessments, and learner resources.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, technical trainers, and business stakeholders to translate specialist knowledge into accurate learning materials.
  • Evaluate programmes through pilots, learner and facilitator feedback, learning analytics, and outcome assessments.
  • Research and apply emerging learning technologies and learner-centred instructional practices.

Requirements

  • Diploma in instructional design, education, learning and development, or a related field; a relevant degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in instructional design or curriculum development.
  • Experience developing classroom-based, digital, and blended learning programmes.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop technical learning content.
  • Knowledge of learning needs analysis, ADDIE, SAM, adult learning principles, curriculum development, learning pathway design, assessment design, and learning analytics.
  • Technical writing, editing, storyboarding, instructional scriptwriting, visual learning, and multimedia design skills.

Nice to have

  • Qualification in curriculum development or educational technology.
  • Experience designing technical training materials in a manufacturing, engineering, or defence environment.
