TL;DR
Global Accounting Compliance Systems Accountant (Finance/Accounting Systems): Maintaining global financial control and accounting compliance activities with an accent on control evidence, audit-ready documentation, system administration, and data integrity. Focus on monitoring finance system interfaces, resolving accounting and compliance issues, supporting close and audit processes, and coordinating corrective actions across global stakeholders.

Location: Romania; remote work with substantial coverage of UK business hours required

What you will do

  • Monitor global accounting compliance activities, deadlines, risks, remediation actions, control evidence, and management reporting.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including journals, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, variance analysis, and outstanding-item resolution.
  • Support statutory accounts, tax and VAT/GST requirements, internal and external audits, and preparation of audit-ready schedules.
  • Administer and provide operational support for Salesforce, SAP, Zuora Billing and Revenue, OneStream, Pagero, and related finance systems.
  • Monitor system interfaces, data integrity, access, workflows, and exceptions, coordinating investigations and resolutions with Finance and IT/Systems.
  • Develop process, control, system, and user documentation and support new system, control, and compliance implementations.

Requirements

  • Recognized professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CPA, CA, or equivalent, with active membership where applicable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • At least three years of recent experience in accounting compliance, financial control, audit, systems accounting, or finance systems support.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, internal controls, audit requirements, IFRS, and local GAAP.
  • Experience with journals, reconciliations, financial statements, statutory accounts, technical accounting papers, audit workpapers, compliance monitoring, and remediation tracking.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and substantial coverage of UK business hours are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with OneStream or another EPM/consolidation platform, including workflows, metadata, security, data loads, and reporting.
  • Experience with SAP, Zuora Billing and Revenue, Pagero, Salesforce, Workiva, Power BI, or related finance technologies.
  • Experience in a multinational software or technology company with globally distributed Local Controllers.
  • Experience supporting SOX or comparable control environments, system implementations, upgrades, integrations, automation, or transformation initiatives.
