Sourcing Engineer (Defence)

Location: Tampere, Finland. Hybrid working is available with remote work 2–3 days per week when business needs allow; higher on-site presence is expected during the first months. The role includes occasional domestic travel to supplier sites, hirify.global locations, and industry events, typically 5–10% of working time.

What you will do

• Manage commercial sourcing responsibilities for indirect procurement categories, investment projects, production, and business operations.
• Develop supplier portfolios by monitoring performance, competitiveness, capability, capacity, and risk.
• Lead RFQs, quotation evaluations, commercial negotiations, and supplier agreement management.
• Build long-term relationships with suppliers and collaborate with production, engineering, HR, administration, and facilities stakeholders.
• Monitor market developments, pricing, contractual risks, service delivery, and supplier capacity.
• Drive cost efficiency, supplier development, demand consolidation, and operational resilience while ensuring compliance with sourcing policies.

Requirements

• University degree in Engineering, Economics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management.
• Strong negotiation, communication, planning, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Excellent written and spoken Finnish and English.
• Experience analysing sourcing, supplier, or commercial data using Excel or similar tools.
• Approved security clearance under the Finnish Security Clearance Act and a drug test are required.

Nice to have

• Experience in indirect procurement, service procurement, or category management.
• Experience sourcing professional, technical, IT, facilities, logistics, or operational support services.
• Experience with contract management, supplier performance management, or service-level agreements.
• Experience with ERP, purchasing, or contract-management systems such as IFS.
• Experience using AI-powered tools for efficiency, data analysis, or sourcing processes.
