Senior Software Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Currently fully remote for candidates based in Guadalajara or Mexico City, with a planned transition to a hybrid model

What you will do

• Architect and implement scalable backend microservices for Payments, Disbursements, or GRC squads.
• Build secure systems for fund collection, transaction processing, beneficiary disbursements, onboarding, KYC, and compliance.
• Design infrastructure capable of handling millions of daily requests with strong security and performance.
• Integrate Google Cloud services and infrastructure tools into distributed financial systems.
• Collaborate with product, operations, compliance, and other business units.
• Mentor junior developers and improve platform capabilities using feedback and analytics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluent or advanced English.
• Experience building, shipping, and iterating on software applications, preferably in fintech.
• Strong foundations in algorithms, data structures, web services, and REST APIs.
• Knowledge of Hexagonal Architecture, Event-Driven Architecture, A/B testing, feature flags, and gradual rollouts.
• Knowledge of security protocols, compliance standards, and KYC/AML processes.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment systems, financial disbursement solutions, or compliance-driven platforms.
• Curiosity or experience in fintech, with equivalent competencies also considered.
