Outcomes Based Testing and Controls Testing Specialist (Fintech)

What you will do

• Deliver Outcomes Based Testing across customer-facing journeys to assess compliance with Consumer Duty and the quality of customer outcomes.
• Review customer cases, communications, and operational activity to identify customer harm, process weaknesses, experience issues, and barriers affecting vulnerable customers.
• Conduct Secondary Controls Testing, assessing control design and operating effectiveness in line with the Risk Management Framework.
• Communicate findings, ratings, risks, and thematic concerns clearly to stakeholders and agree action plans through to resolution.
• Update RiskSmart with test results, findings, ratings, and remediation plans.
• Support root-cause analysis, reporting, dashboards, and continuous improvement of testing methodologies and reporting.

Requirements

• Experience in controls testing, quality assurance, outcomes-based testing, or first- or second-line risk and assurance work.
• Experience or knowledge within financial services, including the FCA Consumer Duty and Conduct Rules.
• Strong analytical and investigative skills, with the ability to identify root causes behind poor customer outcomes or control failures.
• Clear communication skills and the confidence to present findings and constructively challenge stakeholders at different levels of seniority.
• Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and collaborate with Risk Business Partners and the wider First Line of Defence Controls team.
• Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement based in Milton Keynes, United Kingdom.
