Product Development Engineer (Optical Products)

Location: Pathumthani (Navanakorn), Thailand; onsite

What you will do

• Participate in NPI activities, product and process design reviews, and manufacturing readiness assessments.
• Manage BOM-related activities and coordinate with supply chain teams on custom parts and assemblies.
• Develop, transfer, validate, and implement manufacturing processes for new products, including setup, operator training, and production readiness.
• Troubleshoot product, process, yield, quality, cost, and manufacturing issues with cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
• Analyze production data, identify failure modes and process variation, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Improve quality, yield, cycle time, capacity, process efficiency, and cost during NPI and ramp-up before mass production.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in product development, NPI, manufacturing process development, product transfer, or production engineering.
• Strong organizational, communication, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrix organization across local and international locations.
• Knowledge of DFM, PFMEA, process validation, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, statistical analysis, process capability, and process control.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of assembly processes, test methods, equipment capabilities, reliability, and material properties.
• Experience working with contract manufacturers and suppliers.
• Experience in telecommunications or optical products such as fiber optic line cards, modules, or components.
