Senior Compliance Assurance Officer

Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia; hybrid home and office arrangement

What you will do

• Plan and execute risk-based compliance assurance reviews across the EMAP region.
• Define review scopes and testing approaches, perform control testing, conduct fieldwork and fact-finding meetings, and maintain high-quality working papers.
• Prepare reports covering findings, risks, conclusions, and required actions.
• Agree mitigation plans with business owners and management, track actions through closure, and escalate high-risk issues.
• Support the development of compliance risk monitoring, testing processes, assurance methodology, reporting templates, and GenAI tooling.
• Maintain records in Archer and provide reporting on indicators, deliverables, review progress, and recurring regional risk themes.

Requirements

• Around 5 years of experience in regulatory compliance monitoring, testing, assurance, or audit.
• Working knowledge of EU privacy and data protection regulation.
• Experience delivering assurance or testing reviews from scoping through reporting.
• Strong analytical, investigative, interviewing, testing, organisation, and project management skills.
• Experience in a substantial regulated organisation, ideally in financial services, with sound risk-based judgment.
• Fluent English and the ability to work with business owners, compliance colleagues, and senior management across a regional team.

Nice to have

• Professional audit qualification such as ACCA, CIA, or CISA.
