Freelance Event Specialist (Events)

Location: On-site in Tokyo, Japan; candidates must already be based in Tokyo. No relocation packages are offered.

What you will do

• Attend virtual planning meetings with corporate partners, nonprofit organizations, event hosts, coordinators, and other stakeholders.
• Lead on-site setup, event execution, alignment with venue and staffing teams, teardown, cleanup, and repackaging of materials.
• Represent hirify.global as the on-site leader and primary problem solver during corporate volunteering and social-impact events.
• Manage guest check-in, provide a welcoming customer experience, and facilitate group dynamics.
• Resolve issues involving supplies, staffing, technology, and event logistics, escalating problems when necessary.
• Send updates, photos, and videos to the Events Team and prepare materials for return shipment.

Requirements

• Fluent English and strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Already based in Tokyo, Japan and available for contract work on a per-event basis.
• Experience executing complex large-scale events and smaller executive-level events.
• Resourceful, organized, detail-oriented, and able to solve problems under pressure and in ambiguous situations.
• Availability for flexible hours, including nights and weekends, with willingness to travel throughout the local region.
• Ability to interact with large crowds and lift, slide, or carry up to 30 lbs while standing for extended periods.
