Senior Coder - Inpatient (ICD Coding)

What you will do

• Review medical records, physician treatment plans, clinical courses, and outcomes to assign appropriate ICD diagnosis and procedure codes.
• Abstract medical and demographic data for hospital, health system, medical staff, and statistical requests.
• Enter coded and abstracted information into designated systems and support efficient management of unbilled coding workflows.
• Monitor updates to ICD guidelines through training, coding clinics, and other professional resources.
• Mentor colleagues, serve as a coding subject matter expert, and participate in process improvement.

Requirements

• Must work remotely from Pennsylvania, United States.
• At least 5 years of hospital coding experience, including 1 year of trauma hospital coding.
• Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC) certification.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, strong data-entry skills, and familiarity with computer applications.
• Ability to collaborate with members of the healthcare team.
• High school diploma/GED; an associate degree in Health Information Management or a related field is listed.
