Craft Plant Apprenticeship - Surface Finisher (Aerospace)

Location: Broughton, United Kingdom; on-site work at the hirify.global Broughton site is required. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom.

Salary: £19,185 starting salary per year

hirify.global is a global aerospace manufacturer, and the Broughton site is a centre of excellence for wing manufacturing across commercial aircraft, helicopters, defence, and space.

What you will do

• Complete a 36-month craft apprenticeship combining academic study, practical training, and workplace experience.
• Prepare aircraft surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and masking them for finishing.
• Mix paints, prepare spray equipment, and apply multiple coats using precise techniques.
• Inspect finishes, perform touch-ups, monitor environmental conditions, and maintain equipment safely.
• Complete mechanical fitting activities, including drilling and installing fasteners in metallic and composite wing structures.
• Support the preparation and painting of single-aisle and wide-body aircraft wings at the Broughton site.

Requirements

• Current legal authorisation to work in the United Kingdom is required.
• At least five GCSEs at Grade C/4 or higher, including Maths, English Language, and Double Award Science at Grade CC/44, or Single Award Physics at Grade C/4 plus two additional GCSEs.
• Equivalent or higher qualifications may be considered.
• Interest in learning, hands-on work, teamwork, and problem solving.
• Applications must include a CV with predicted or achieved grades and a cover letter explaining motivation for the role.
• Required grades must be evidenced by 31 August 2027, alongside completion of pre-employment checks and online forms.
