Manufacturing Engineering Higher Technical Apprenticeship (Aerospace Manufacturing)

Location: Filton, Bristol, United Kingdom; four-year programme starting September 2027. Candidates must have current legal authorisation to work in the UK for the full duration of the programme.

hirify.global Defence and Space develops and manufactures aerospace products, with the Filton Manufacturing Engineering team connecting design intent with production reality.

What you will do

• Gain experience across wing and sub-assembly processes and develop an overview of current and future manufacturing solutions.
• Support manufacturing engineering activities and solve practical production challenges.
• Work on projects involving the A400M, A350, and Research & Technology initiatives.
• Develop skills in work preparation, jigs and tools, assembly technologies, and research and development.
• Collaborate with Quality, Operations, Finance, design, production, and other functions.
• Build stakeholder relationships and contribute to technical solutions with customer needs in mind.

Requirements

• A Level Maths and Physics at grade C or above, or a Level 3 engineering qualification at Merit or above.
• Five GCSEs at grade 4/C or above, including Mathematics, English Language, and Science.
• Strong oral and written communication skills and an interest in working in a technical team.
• Interest in creative solutions to complex problems and evidence-based decision-making.
• CV must include grades and indicate whether they are predicted or achieved; a cover letter is also required.
• Successful candidates must pass a BPSS check and may need UK SC-level Security Clearance or Export Control approval.

Nice to have

• Practical experience from projects, hobbies, academic work, or extracurricular activities.
• Interest in developing hands-on engineering skills and pursuing a career in aerospace manufacturing.
