Principal Security Engineer, Product & Platform (AI)

Location: Seattle, WA, USA; the role is associated with a Seattle office.

Salary: $180,000–$240,000 annually.

What you will do

• Define and drive product and platform security strategy, prioritizing investments against the most important risks.
• Lead threat modeling for agentic systems and design protections for agent behavior, permissions, isolation, customer data, and platform boundaries.
• Harden production access, cloud infrastructure, IAM, secrets management, and the CI/CD supply chain.
• Build secure-by-default patterns with engineering for agents, services, and infrastructure.
• Own security detection, logging standards, incident response, and technical controls supporting SOC 2.
• Represent technical security in enterprise customer reviews and help shape future security hiring.

Requirements

• 10+ years of security engineering experience, including Principal- or Staff-level ownership of complex production systems.
• Deep product security experience with threat modeling, secure architecture, authentication, authorization, and multi-tenant systems.
• Hands-on experience with cloud security, Kubernetes, IAM, and infrastructure as code.
• Strong technical understanding of securing LLM and agent-based systems and emerging risks.
• Experience leading production security incident response and improving systems based on findings.
• Track record of writing and shipping production code, security tooling, or infrastructure, with clear communication across engineering, leadership, and enterprise security teams.

Nice to have

• Experience as an early security hire at a high-growth B2B SaaS, AI, or infrastructure company.
• Experience building cloud security detections, telemetry, and logging pipelines.
• Experience implementing SOC 2 or ISO 27001 technical controls, or contributing to AI security research, standards, or open-source security tooling.
