Security Engineer (AI)

Location: Remote within the United States, or from Figma hubs in San Francisco, CA and New York, NY. In-person onboarding is required.

Annual base salary: $153,000–$376,000 USD.

What you will do

• Drive security improvements and risk reduction across Figma’s product, platform, AI infrastructure, and IT systems.
• Perform security assessments, code audits, threat modeling, and design reviews.
• Design and build security tooling for AI systems, cloud and corporate infrastructure, products, and data pipelines.
• Detect and respond to infrastructure threats, vulnerabilities, spam, fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
• Support penetration testing, offensive security exercises, bug bounty activities, and cross-functional security consulting.

Requirements

• 5+ years of engineering experience in Security Engineering or Software Engineering, with some security experience preferred for software engineers.
• Strong security judgment in threat modeling and risk prioritization, and/or strong technical judgment in designing maintainable, scalable systems.
• Proficiency in at least one general-purpose programming language.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with experience collaborating across functions.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States or from a Figma US hub.

Nice to have

• Expertise in Application Security, Cloud Security, Corporate Security, Data Access Governance, or IAM.
• Experience making difficult prioritization decisions involving security controls.
