Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, California, USA; work across office, laboratory, warehouse, manufacturing, integration, and clean-room environments.

What you will do

• Administer environmental compliance processes for South Coast AQMD permits, emissions controls, recordkeeping, and environmental monitoring.
• Support CUPA programs, hazardous materials and waste management, universal waste, SPCC applicability, and waste minimization initiatives.
• Sustain EHS programs covering Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout, machine safety, ergonomics, PPE, contractor safety, and incident response.
• Investigate injuries, near misses, spills, and property damage events; document findings and support corrective actions and root-cause analysis.
• Review process hazard analyses and audits, facilitate safety committee activities, and support daily floor-level safety checks.
• Coordinate safety training, emergency equipment readiness, drills, first aid, CPR/AED, and spill response activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of EHS experience in manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or a similar industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of Cal/OSHA, DTSC, CUPA, South Coast AQMD, LAFD, LASAN, and other applicable regulatory authorities.
• Experience with incident investigations, safety training, regulatory inspections, and compliance audits.
• Ability to collaborate across functions, influence without direct authority, communicate effectively, and use Microsoft Office.
• Applicants must be a U.S. Person or be able to obtain the required export authorizations under ITAR/EAR requirements.

Nice to have

• ASP, CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent professional certification.
• Aerospace manufacturing or other regulated-industry experience.
• Experience with laser safety, lithium-ion battery safety, industrial hygiene monitoring, confined spaces, or PSM-adjacent processes.
