Director of People Operations (AI)

Location: Sydney Office, hybrid

Salary: A$160K–A$200K plus equity

What you will do

• Own the People Operations function, global payroll, employee lifecycle, talent acquisition, IT provisioning, and people programs.
• Architect the next version of People Operations across systems, data flows, automations, and AI agents.
• Build workflows, automations, and AI agents that reduce manual administration and errors.
• Create frameworks and playbooks for managers to run people cycles, hiring loops, and lifecycle changes independently.
• Lead calibration, promotion, compensation, engagement, learning, employee relations, compliance, and exit processes.
• Lead and develop a team comprising a Senior Talent Acquisition Manager and a People Operations Manager.

Requirements

• Leadership or operations experience through a high-growth, high-change period.
• Experience designing systems and data flows across multiple platforms so processes run without manual administration.
• Hands-on experience building automations or AI agent workflows.
• Experience writing frameworks or playbooks that managers can use independently.
• Experience with AI tools and project management or communication tools such as Slack, Jira, and Confluence.
• Availability for a hybrid role based in the Sydney office.

Nice to have

• Series B or growth-stage scale-up experience.
• Experience with Zapier, Airtable, Rippling, Remote, Ashby, or comparable platforms.
• Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude or Claude Code.
