What you will do
- Evaluate metallographic microstructures for material acceptance and compliance.
- Review heat treatment processes against AMS 2750, ASTM E112, and related standards.
- Assess weld quality through macro-etch evaluation and CWI acceptance criteria.
- Conduct coating inspections using NACE/AMPP and SSPC standards.
- Review and disposition defects in laser powder bed fusion additive manufacturing components.
- Document technical reasoning for accept/reject decisions while working independently.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience evaluating micrographs, welds, coatings, or additive manufacturing components.
- Strong knowledge of ASTM, AMS, AWS, NADCAP, NACE/AMPP, and SSPC standards.
- Current or previous AWS Certified Welding Inspector certification or equivalent.
- Experience in metallography, heat treatment, welding inspection, and coating assessment.
- Knowledge of additive manufacturing, particularly LPBF.
- Ability to work remotely; US-based candidates are preferred.
