Software Engineer (Machine Learning) Intern (Summer 2027)

Location: San Francisco, California, United States. Remote-first work is available within the United States, with occasional in-person office work and an in-person onboarding experience.

USA hourly base pay: $55.00. USA monthly base pay: $9,500.

What you will do

• Develop and ship a meaningful software project during a 12–16 week internship.
• Collaborate with a mentor and manager to define a project aligned with team priorities and personal skills.
• Monitor deployments and verify that delivered work functions in production.
• Meet regularly with a dedicated mentor and incorporate feedback.
• Present completed work to the engineering organization at the end of the internship.

Requirements

• Passion for improving consumer banking.
• Experience with Python, C/C++, or Java.
• Experience with object-oriented programming.
• Experience with deployment and testing frameworks.
• Experience with API development and documentation.
• Strong communication skills and experience with AWS or another PaaS framework.

Nice to have

• Frontend experience with web applications, JavaScript, AngularJS, or React.
