Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco, CA; full-time telecommuting is an option. The posting and compensation information are for U.S.-based roles.

Base salary: $230,000.00–$322,000.00 USD per year, plus potential equity and, depending on the position, commission.

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain scalable ML infrastructure for notification relevance, targeting, ranking, and personalization across push, email, and in-app channels.
• Develop end-to-end notification pipelines covering data ingestion, feature computation, model training, evaluation, deployment, and online serving.
• Collaborate with data scientists, product managers, and engineers to define requirements and deliver notification solutions.
• Design and implement experimentation frameworks, including A/B testing and multi-armed bandits.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical guidance on machine learning engineering, distributed systems, and ML infrastructure.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Five years of experience in the offered role or a related occupation.
• Experience designing large-scale software systems and high-scale ML recommender systems.
• Object-oriented programming with Python, Golang, or Java, and model development with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Experience with APIs, distributed storage and caching, messaging systems, workflow orchestration, analytics platforms, and observability tools.
• Experience designing, running, and analyzing A/B experiments to optimize system performance.
