Principal Generative AI Engineer

Location: Remote within the United States. Candidates must be U.S. Persons; the minimum qualifications specifically require U.S. citizenship.

Salary: Annual base pay ranges from $135,000–$198,000 in Colorado, New Jersey, and Delaware; $149,000–$217,800 in the Washington, DC metropolitan area; and $155,000–$227,700 in California. Other states may have different market-driven ranges.

What you will do

• Build AI-native products that transform geospatial data into actionable intelligence and mission-critical insights.
• Design multi-agent workflows with Google ADK, LangChain, LangGraph, and similar orchestration frameworks.
• Integrate frontier LLMs including GPT-4, Claude, and Gemini for contextual analysis, hypothesis generation, and adaptive decision-making.
• Develop data ingestion and transformation layers for pattern-of-life analysis, detection, anomaly identification, and predictive analytics.
• Create feedback loops and reinforcement mechanisms that improve model reliability and operational trust.
• Deploy and operate secure, scalable AI systems using containerization, orchestration, CI/CD, and other DevOps practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• U.S. Person status is required; the minimum qualifications specify U.S. citizenship.
• 7+ years of relevant technology experience, preferably in software engineering and AI/ML.
• Strong understanding of cloud-based data management and machine learning pipelines, including AWS or GCP.
• Significant software development experience with Python, JavaScript, or similar languages.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote, geographically distributed teams.

Nice to have

• Experience with vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation architectures.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and high-availability architectures for global-scale workloads.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools to prototype, automate engineering tasks, and improve team velocity.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
