Senior Applied AI Product Engineer

Location: 100% remote, but candidates must reside within the continental United States; Tampa, FL or Atlanta, GA

What you will do

• Design and implement AI-powered features for patient engagement, care coordination, claims management, and operational efficiency.
• Use Claude Code and related AI development tools to build, test, troubleshoot, and maintain full-stack products.
• Develop APIs, backend services, automation pipelines, and LLM integrations.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, engineers, and clinical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Apply software engineering, DevOps, and MLOps practices to testing, deployment, monitoring, security, and performance optimization.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and implementation approaches.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 5+ years of experience in software engineering, product engineering, or full-stack application development.
• Hands-on proficiency with Claude Code, including feature implementation, debugging, and result validation.
• Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, JavaScript, or comparable languages, with experience developing frontend components, backend services, and APIs.
• Experience integrating LLMs through APIs, prompt engineering, AI agents, generative AI workflows, or retrieval-augmented generation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills for independent work in a remote Agile environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required; selected candidates must complete a background check and be able to obtain and maintain a Government/Public Trust clearance when required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, or CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with Cursor, Codex, OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, vector databases, embeddings, semantic search, or AI orchestration frameworks.
• Experience deploying AI applications or working with healthcare, payer/provider, federal government, or Department of Veterans Affairs technology initiatives.
