Billing Specialist (3-Month Contract) (Education)

Growing organisation in the education sector with a busy, collaborative finance function supporting billing across multiple sites.

What you will do

• Process regular billing cycles across multiple entities and locations.
• Handle non-standard charges for extracurricular services, events, trips, and other miscellaneous items.
• Perform billing and deposit reconciliations and support month-end accounting activities.
• Manage billing adjustments, discounts, account amendments, credit notes, and contract-related changes.
• Resolve billing queries and discrepancies with operational teams and customers by phone and email.
• Maintain billing information across customer portals and internal finance systems while supporting process improvements.

Requirements

• At least 18 months of experience in finance or accounting, ideally involving billing, accounts receivable, or revenue processes.
• Understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and revenue recognition.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence using finance systems.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder relationship skills.
• Ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines, and work proactively in a changing environment.
