Senior Supplier Technical Engineer (Turbomachinery)

Location: San Diego, California, United States; onsite five days a week

Salary: $112,704–$169,056 per year

What you will do

• Lead the resolution of supplier quality problems and technical issues involving purchased materials.
• Coordinate root cause analysis, supplier corrective and preventive actions, and Reject Notice and Technical Authority requests.
• Manage supplier quality metrics, monthly reporting, performance trends, and time-bound improvement plans.
• Partner with Engineering on new product introduction, concurrent product and process development, configuration management, specification approvals, and cost reduction.
• Lead Production Part Approval Process activities and develop inspection plans with engineering, materials, processes, and manufacturing teams.
• Provide technical guidance on supplier tooling, supplier qualification, and continuous process improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher with experience in supplier quality or engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience with ERP software and proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio.
• Fluent business English in written and spoken communication.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes for forging and machining operations relevant to turbomachinery.
• Familiarity with engineering practices, process planning, drawing interpretation, tooling, nondestructive testing, functional testing, metallurgy, and technical product knowledge.
• Strong analytical, statistical, communication, interpersonal, project management, and supplier quality management skills.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of melting and conversion of turbomachinery alloys.
• Familiarity with 6 Sigma tools and Lean Manufacturing principles.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams and influencing suppliers toward effective solutions.
• Working knowledge of supplier selection processes and quality management systems.
