Head of Regulatory Compliance (Fintech)

Location: Moorgate, London; 3–4 days in the office

What you will do

• Lead the UK regulatory advice function across FCA rules, Consumer Duty, financial promotions, safeguarding, and e-money.
• Oversee regulatory horizon scanning and translate regulatory changes into business actions.
• Lead the second-line Risk and Compliance Monitoring Plan, including thematic reviews, control testing, and action closure.
• Lead the use of AI within Compliance and provide oversight of AI use across the organisation.
• Coach and develop a small compliance team while providing pragmatic, risk-based challenge to the first line.

Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of FCA SYSC, Consumer Duty, and the EMR and PSR regimes.
• Hands-on experience running risk-based compliance monitoring or independent assurance in a UK FCA-regulated firm.
• Experience with AI tooling and deploying AI across Compliance and the wider organisation.
• Experience leading and developing a compliance team.
• Clear communication skills for senior stakeholders, governance forums, and partner banks.
• Ability to work from the London office 3–4 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience in an FCA-regulated fintech, EMI, payments, or banking firm.
• Exposure to fraud, safeguarding, or operational resilience.
• Direct FCA engagement or cross-jurisdictional experience, such as coordinating across the UK and US.
