Software Engineer, Networking (Features) (Go)

Salary: $181,000–$226,000 USD base salary per year

What you will do

• Develop open-source client code and related backend services focused on networking features and optimizations.
• Design, build, test, and document core networking software components.
• Own features across the product lifecycle, from implementation and ideation to strategic decisions.
• Build observable running services, participate in incident response, and handle customer support escalations.
• Improve the efficiency, scalability, stability, and security of networking systems.
• Collaborate with UX/UI designers, product managers, and engineering teams to shape networking capabilities.

Requirements

• Professional experience with Go.
• Experience implementing application-layer networking concepts and distributed components such as proxies, connectors, and overlay routing.
• Deep knowledge of operating-system networking internals, including socket programming, routing tables, and packet-filtering primitives.
• Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems, with strong knowledge of concurrency, race conditions, memory management, synchronization, and scalability.
• Proficiency with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL and efficient SQL query writing.
• Strong written and verbal communication, collaboration, independent work, and adaptability in a fast-paced startup environment.
