Senior Systems Engineer, Algorithm Development - Effectors (Radar)

Location: Full-time onsite in El Segundo, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$250,000 base salary per year, excluding bonuses, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design and develop radar signal-processing algorithms for target detection, tracking, and classification.
• Optimize algorithms for real-time execution and constrained computing resources.
• Implement algorithms in C++, Python, MATLAB, FPGAs, DSPs, and related hardware platforms.
• Develop radar-system and signal-processing-chain simulations and models.
• Analyze radar data, evaluate system performance, and support field tests and data collection.
• Contribute to system requirements, technical documentation, specifications, and stakeholder presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in STEM or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of relevant airborne radar systems development experience with deep knowledge of airborne radar systems and modes.
• Strong knowledge of radar principles, waveform design, matched filtering, Doppler processing, clutter rejection, and signal-processing algorithms.
• Strong understanding of Active Electronically Scanned Array design, antenna capabilities, and beamforming.
• Familiarity with Python, MATLAB, or C++.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to have

• Experience implementing radar algorithms in VHDL or Verilog firmware.
• Experience implementing radar algorithms on GPUs.
